Noel Pearson and Wesley Enoch were the main speakers and provocateurs for a 1 day conference in Logan, for Youth and Family Services. The day was convened and developed by Pauline Peel Consulting, for whom I was the documentarian.
This day brought many new insights for the audience including myself. With slightly different points of view, both Wesley and Noel raised important ideas around real opportunities for indigenous people and changing the way we think around ‘welfare’.
The other inspiring collaboration was working for Pauline to document the day. Pauline has worked in the community arts space for many years, for both government and independent orgs. She started one of the first community arts organizations in QLD back in the 1980s. I was inspired and grateful to learn her methodology behind facilitating a large event around the topic of ‘change’. Mariana Nardone was also on the team, a social researcher from Argentina who brought fresh ideas and thorough research skills to the table.
